General Thinking is a network of Thinkers & doers: creative, wise & engaged; thoughtful people doing good work.

The first version of the network was founded in New York in early 2001 by Remo Giuffré & Geoffrey Gifford.

What started out as an online manifestation of Remo's personal network; quickly developed, via a unique nomination process, to include a diverse collection of people from all over the world (most of whom he didn't previously know); people thinking clear thoughts, and doing good work: designers, writers, architects, artists, entrepreneurs, journalists, producers, directors, musicians, etc. ... a band of brothers & sisters; an online "guild."

Version 1.0 of General Thinking was one of the very first social networks, coming long before services like Friendster, MySpace, LinkedIn and Facebook. It was a really good idea ... but somewhat ahead of its time.

Fast forward a decade, and we think we've come up with the right application for General Thinking: a service and online "exchange" that matches a global network of wise & creative Thinkers with an equally global network of Partners, who sponsor Projects that could greatly benefit from an exposure to that precious network creativity and wisdom. Thinkers could think & work individually, in clusters, or collectively; online or offline; whatever it takes. Time commitments would be small but focused. Thinker rewards would be set by the Partners and would vary from project to project.
